"By your 30s, you’ve probably experimented with every trend going (whether it suits you or not), so it’s a good to time to strip it all back to what suits your shape, lifestyle, and what outfits makes you feel a million dollars," Lou and Em explain. "The key is to have core pieces that work well together, ready-made go-to looks that make getting out of the house stress-free and without the entire contents of your wardrobe strewn across the floor—we’ve all been there."

"Our uniform consists of good denim, a structured blazer, leather biker jackets, midi skirts, countless tees and a few key investment pieces. We tend to stick to a neutral colour palette of black, grey and white for our capsule wardrobe and invest in items that work hard for us… It’s all about the cost per wear!"

"Don’t be scared of appearing boring, some of the most stylish women in the world stick to a uniform—Emmanuele Alt with her denim, tee and jacket combos, Christine Centenara mixes leather and structured blazers regularly, and Carine Roitfeld has nailed the pencil-skirt-plus-bodysuit look."
