The outfits Meghan Markle has worn ever since she commenced her royal duties have all been polished and classic, without being too conservative or traditional. She favours simple pieces in modern silhouettes, and then always uses one piece to add interest to her looks — her handbag. Meghan has a real eye for accessories, whether she's showing her fashion know how with the latest Chloé it bag or she's debuting something from an unknown label. Her totes are usually the most talked about (and inevitably copied) part of her outfit. And she doesn't stick to the royal rulebook and only carry top handle totes either — you're more likely to see her with a crossbody or oversized tote than a neat box clutch bag or Launer handbag like her royal in-laws. For her first public appearance with Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in Toronto, Meghan carried a camel classic tote bag by Everlane. It has been pretty much sold out ever since, however if you order it now it will ship on the 17th April.
On a visit to Northern Ireland Meghan once again made her handbag the focal part of her outfit, wearing a tan top handle bag by an unknown handbag label with an incredible backstory. Her tan top-handle £185 Bloomsbury bag is by designer Charlotte Elizabeth who launched her accessories brand when she was 21 and had been paralysed for over a year.
On a visit to Edinburgh Meghan wore a very casual handbag for a royal — a mini green crossbody bag by Strathberry. She wore it over the top of her navy and green tartan wool coat by Burberry.
For her first royal Christmas, Meghan wore head-to-toe camel and brown. Her brown boots and camel belted coat are classic buys, making her suede Pixie bag by Chloé the real star of the outfit.
On a visit to Nottingham, shortly after the announcement of her engagement, Meghan created a frenzy around her navy, cream and burgundy Nano tote by British label Strathberry. The website still promises that it will be back in stock soon.
