What to Put on to Brunch: 6 Taste Bloggers and Their Weekend Winners

What to wear for brunch? Well, over the years, we've enjoyed our fair share of lazy, late breakfasts with friends and have learnt a few things. First, you can never make too much of an effort. There's something truly enjoyable about shaking off your work clothes and debuting something new or different for the weekend. Second, you must be sensible. Super-tight dresses are not your friend. Give yourself some breathing space, and opt for looser fits that are comfortable to eat and sit down in for a good few hours of gossip. Finally, think about your footwear choice. Unless you're a hardcore high-heel lover who can last all day long on a regular basis, it's best to opt for flats or comfortable midi pumps (you never know where the day will take you). Now, scroll down to see six brunch outfits that are perfect for the weekend.

Style Notes: Lucy Williams has a knack for wearing outfits that look relaxed and put together at the same time. Here, she wears a green floral midi, a leather biker jacket and the sand-coloured peep-toe heels from her collection with Aeyde.

Style Notes: In the summer months, a simple white T-shirt and skirt will work wonders for brunching attire. Make it a touch glamorous by opting for a side split in your skirt. It'll give your outfit a St. Tropez sheen, even if you're just at your favourite local spot for avocado on toast.
A black or white T-shirt would go nicely with this skirt from Balenciaga.
Style Notes: Those smart but bold trousers you have in your wardrobe might not be quite right for the office during the week, but come the weekend, they're ideal for sitting around in pretty cafés.
Note the extreme flare to balance out any, ahem, bulges post-indulgence in a big brunch.
Style Notes: Natalie Ndlovu's outfit combo proves that jeans and boots plus a pretty, tied top are ideal for the unpredictable UK weather. The boots will keep you dry, but the top cool. Just remember to pack an umbrella.
Want a pair of jeans that works with everything in your wardrobe? Here you go.
Style Notes: Relaxed but with a formal flourish is how we'd describe Alex Stedman of The Frugality's look here. And proof that dungarees can be chic enough for a brunch date.
Slight heels will give you a bit of a boost but are also ideal if you're off for a bit of a walk post-pancakes.
Style Notes: A directional white shirt (which these days aren't hard to come across, no matter your budget) is perfect for a day when you want to look like you've made a little effort. Make like Darja Barannik and add block heels to complete the look.
The collar might be traditional, but the cuffs add a new dimension to the wardrobe classic.
Style Notes: Weekend-ready but without being too try-hard, Charlotte Groeneveld of The Fashion Guitar's downtime look is everything. We love the contrast of a light handbag against a bold knit.
Too warm to wear but still love this jumper? Throw over your shoulders, European-style.
Style Notes: Aria di Bari's loose jumpsuit is perfect for an indulgent weekend, but it's rendered chic with this season's must-have: metallic boots.
Wear with a tank or an off-the-shoulder top for warmer weather. Next up, discover the outfit-topping style staple French girls can't live without.

Style Notes: Brittany Bathgate's combo of white straight-leg jeans, espadrilles and basket bag is one we'll be wearing again and again.

Style Notes: There's a reason why you'll see striped tops and straight-leg jeans in every brunch spot. If it ain't broke…

    Style Notes:

Style Notes: If there's one thing our readers love right now, it's polka-dot dresses. Pair one with ankle boots and an oversized basket like Tiffany Hsu.

Style Notes: Dress down your floral dresses and skirts with a pair of trainers and sports socks.
