2018's Solution to Off-the-Shoulder Tops Has After all Arrived

If you've visited Who What Wear UK in 2018, you know that the '80s are back in a big way. Not only does that mean wearing Quality Street purple, white shoes and double-breasted jackets with XXL shoulders, but it's also bringing the return of puff sleeves.

Personally, whenever I hear the word "puff" attached to anything (especially sleeves), I think of Drew Barrymore's shiny pink prom dress in Never Been Kissed. But fear not—this is not 2018's plan. The street style crowd isn't wearing billowing bubblegum-pink tinfoil just yet, but rather shirts and dresses with dramatic oversized shoulders and sleeves. When said silhouettes are voluminous at the top and cuffed at the wrist, it's technically called a leg-of-mutton sleeve. And it's technically one of the few '80s trends I can imagine wearing.

The likes of Jacquemus, A.W.A.K.E., Balenciaga and Rosie Assoulin have all tapped into this silhouette. Meanwhile, the high street has delivered some equally tempting (and affordable) pieces, with Kitri, Zara and Mango getting in on the action. And while off-the-shoulder styles remain popular and flattering, there's something to be said for the easier bra situation that this new wave brings. Keep scrolling to shop our edit of the seven best puff-sleeve tops out there.

Isn't this trend just too adorable to resist?
